I have always been involved with music. In the last few years I discovered something about myself as a person; I enjoy sharing music, melodies and lyrics, such as a songwriter. A lot of the time, while I'm sitting with my guitar I get ideas that come into my mind as melodies, words, and stories. Time when the song is completed very easily and other times when I get stuck. Stuck because some of the song that I write are incomplete, songs that I am confident will be good ones. According to this article, I will share the 5 ways to finish that song you've been working on forever. Personally, I'm not into forcing my lyrics because songwriting works by instinct... but at the same time you want to see your work done right. Okay. The first approach said, Make a Rough Recording of Your Song. In simple words this means that the work needs a little bit of perspective. You can make a simple record on your cell phone, recorder, computer, etc. but the points is putting yourself in the audience's place and trying to get a perspective on what is not working. Second, Play It For Your Songwriting Groups. It's very important to share your work with people that respect music and lyrics. In my case I learn to always share my songs with friends of mine who are musicians and singers who always have constructive criticism, a point that gives me more confidence. Third, Submit Your Rough Recording to a Critiquing Service. Already exist organizations like The Songwriters Guild of America and others that offer song critique to their members. This can be safe, entry- level way to try out new material on experienced industry ears without risking poisoning the well if the song comes back with a less- than- glowing set of comments. Four, Bring in a Co-writer if you think that the idea for the song is good but you don't have confidence to finish... find a co-writer ! He or She might be able to clear you mind bring different ideas to the table, like highlighting the melody to help the song more stronger. And finally Put It Away ( maybe forever). This means, as a songwriter, you could be working on many more songs. If you get stuck with one, put it away with the understanding that eventually you will go back to that one, and this time get it right.
